Dr. Karen Parker Davidson

DHA, MSA, M.Ed., MSN, RN

Dr. Karen Davidson, founder of FACT Healthcare Consulting Group, and creator of the DAFNE Scoring System© has held many positions in the medical device industry for more than 25 years, specifically in the ENT and Sleep markets, in addition to 30 years of clinical experience to include service as a Flight Nurse in the United States Air Force Reserves and committee member for various Otolaryngology meetings. Dr. Davidson serves as the Vice President at GM Instruments, Ltd. with a special interest in and published on the technology of objective nasal measurements, nasal physiology, clinical application, reimbursement, health economics, and health policy.


She is adjunct faculty at Central Michigan University, Health Administration Division, School of Health Professions and Liberty University, School of Business and School of Health Sciences. She is the SME for medical coding and payors sources at Liberty University in their School of Health Science undergraduate program. The recipient of Central Michigan University’s Outstanding Dissertation Award, her work in examining reimbursement and use of the experimental and investigational label used by payors for coverage denial of FDA approved products and diagnostics was recognized for outstanding research.


Her expertise as a volunteer partner with the Harrison COVID-19 Research Group includes nasal function studies, nasal physiology, nasal drug delivery, health economics, and health policy for a prophylactic protocol via nasal delivery.


Passionate about airway health, Dr. Davidson currently serves as an editorial board member for Dental Sleep Practice Magazine and as a consultant and medical advisor to medical companies and various medical groups. She is a speaker on the topic of nasal function, resistance, how nasal airflow is objectively measured, and the necessary collaborative care approach between medical and dental professionals. She is a coauthor of “The Power of the Tongue In the Beginning, We Were All Tongue Tie” and “Sleep Apnea and Pregnancy: The Female Response to Sleep Breathing Disorders”, a contributing author to “Growing Into Breathing Problems: The Quest for Collaborative Life Time Solutions” for release in 2022, and the author of an upcoming book, “Breathe Through Your Nose, Don’t Pay Through It: The Impact the Healthcare Industry has on Nasal Function and How We Breathe”.


Dr. Davidson received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Masters degree in Administration, Health Services Administration from Central Michigan, Masters degrees in Nursing and Education from University of Phoenix, and Doctor of Health Administration from Central Michigan University. She is member of the America College of Health Care Executives.


Karen currently lives in the Annapolis area with her son, Zach, and two dogs.
